DEVCake started as a group of Dutch students who participated in the same minor called Serious Gaming. Here they formed a tight team and worked on their first assignment to make a local municipality the most vital municipality in the Netherlands. Soon they professionalized started their own company DEVCake where each team member fulfills a important roll in the diverse team. Mike Slinkman is the lead technical within our team and specializes in creating the software needed for our services. His background in computer science and game technology makes him an expert in creating fun software solutions. Jim de Vries is our marketeer with a healthy interest in the latest technologies. He will make sure our product isn’t just good, but also market-ready. Mike Sohns is DEVCake’s own data scientist and will be analyzing trends and software performance to ensure our services and product are and will remain top quality. Lastly Boy Bouw is the project manager. He ensures the project will be done in time and helps out with the programming with his background in computer science.
DEVCake focuses on software development with minimal hardware requirements. We believe in serious gaming and that solutions should be both fun, useful and beneficial to the quality of life. We understand people, our clients and the market to create the best fit within the three.

Imagine the amount of energy used daily for lighting up our environment in our homes, on the streets, at work work, etc. Also, imagine how much of this energy that could be saved if the last person leaving a room simply turned off the lights. When seeing doctors, patients always have to repeat their health information such as allergies. What’s more, they don’t know how to describe their symptoms in a clear and logical way, and just wait to be asked by doctors. On the other hand, doctors have to spend lots of time asking questions to judge the patients’ physical condition. There is a lot of nagging and time overhead. Is there any effective solutions for these two problems?

Yes, our prototype is just what you need!

Idea

In a post in Expressen 26th of july 2016, Cecilia Lundberg describes the problems regarding the leek of staff at hospitals. As a nurse it is hard to overview the 20-30 patients that she is responsible for. We will develop a solution for monitoring the patients in a easy way. Through a braclet we want to measure differnet values like puls, motion and position. This bracelet can visualize valueable information that will help them get a better view of the department.

There is a lot of people in need of a working health care and we think they should gain from the high tech world we live in, without having to learn about technology or even know what is going on ”behind the scenes”.

It should just work, is our motto. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ width=”1/6″][vc_column_text]#HEALTH CARE & MEDICAL CARE[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” bottom_padding=”20″ overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ width=”1/6″][vc_column_text]

Idea

We want to create a web application that makes the user aware of energy consumption, environmental footprint and costs. The data will be visualized for the user in various ways, e.g. pie charts and line graphs showing trends over time to see whether parameters such as season or week day have any effect on the data.

Our goal is to give the user an overview of energy and water consumption as well as heating and how much waste the user produces, perhaps even enabling sharing of the data to compete with neighbours, friends or family. In addition to this, we want to create algorithms that tells the user what can be done to reduce energy consumption.

In terms of IoT we want to make a connected sorting station that with the help of simple sensors and a microcontroller keeps track of the user sorts trash, a data source that will be integrated with Tekniska Verken’s data. Making it possible for people with free parking slots, to announce it and rent it out for short time periods. E.g. a person who has a house and only owns own car, but has enough space for three cars parked there, may rent out two slots. Or if someone is on vacation for 2 weeks, he/she rents it out for 2 weeks. DisplayOS

Google’s creative director in the Google Creative Lab declared in his TedX-talk that for a world without screens the biggest challenge ahead is making information naturally accessible. While we still have way to go before we can completely replace screens with projections and augmented reality, there is a great need to decrease the barriers of entry for developers wanting to get into IoT. Our solution is to create what we call DisplayOS.

We would like to solve the idea to not have to repeat health care information at every doctors visit.

Our solutions to this problem can roughly describes in three parts:

– A printer which is able to write information on the tagg. Idea

We will develop a GPS based tracking system for bicycles with an associated app and website. With this system you can keep track of where your bike is at all times.

During the summer one of our team members moved to Västerås where he didn’t have a bike, and was forced to buy expensive bus tickets. At the same time almost all students had left Västerås to visit their families, and a lot of bicycles were unused. We think that it would be perfect if it existed an app / website where you can borrow a bike from other users. A “share a bike” service, just like Airbnb and other peer-to-peer market places. Online profiles include details such as reviews and shared social connections to build reputation and trust among users of the marketplace.

It will be impossible to forget to lock your bike, since it will automatically activate the alarm when you leave the bike. You will always know where your bike is located. You will have the possibility to rent out your bike when it is otherwise unused.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ width=”1/6″][vc_column_text]#CIVIL ENVIRONMENT & TRANSPORTATION[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” bottom_padding=”20″ overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ width=”1/6″][vc_column_text]

The idea in short:

1: Your cell phone is using its camera to read licence plates of vehicles you meet or drive behind.

2: Every registration number is checked with a DB containing stolen vehicles.

3: When a stolen vehicle is detected it is

1) stored and presented by its location in a map

2) the phone app is opened and prepared for calling the local police office.
