Reading books and writing exams is one way of learning, but is it really enough? Most students pass their exams, but often forget what they learnt just to move on to the next course. Almost a century ago, John Dewey reacted against this type of learning. Learning by doing while exploring and digging is something totally different, you increase your experience and your knowledge all the time, you will reach to a higher level.
Being a part of East Sweden Hack has multiple purposes for us at Mölk. First of all, it is a great event, meeting a lot of inspiring people with great knowledge about software and hardware development. The companies at Mjärdevi is like a big family, a lot of common interests and building the right connections is of great importance. Both for supporting the companies with new recruits and tailor-made courses to suit their needs, but also to offer the students openings for their future work placements which hopefully can lead to an employment. Events like East Sweden Hack puts Mjärdevi on the map, this is of great importance for worldwide cooperation and national recruitment.
Secondly, it is a great opportunity for our students to show anyone interested what they learnt during their education, not only in class, but also during their work placement and in their free time between all the controlled lectures. Being a great developer is not only about knowledge, it’s about genuine interest. Hopefully we will have a team in the competition, representing the school this year, having a chance to compare their skills with the other teams. This is something to strive for, a driving force to take everyone to the next level.
Finally, it’s a perfect opportunity to make sure you keep up with the latest trends within the area of software and hardware development![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
